Quzier Ambak has become a household name synonymous with equestrian sport since he led Malaysia to a SEA Games Gold Medal in showjumping in 1995. He was an Asian Games bronze medal winner in 1998. In 2001 he was an individual silver and team gold medal winner at the KL SEA Games. In 2002 he led Malaysia to an historic team bronze medal at the 14th Asian Games.
His local titles are too many to list. Suffice to say that since he began his showjumping career in 1991, Quzier has won every major title there is to win in Malaysia. Though a relatively young man at age 31, Quzier is considered a senior rider in Malaysia’s showjumping team. He has qualified for every showjumping team to represent Malaysia since 1993. He rode on Malaysia’s silver medal winning team at the 2005 SEA Games and has qualified for the 2006 Doha Asian Games. Quzier also mentors and trains young Malaysian riders. He provides specialized showjumping coaching for riders at 3Q Equestrian. Quzier has taken up polo and has become an avid player. He now runs Bukit Kiara’s polo programme. Quzier has served two terms on the committee of the Equestrian Association of Malaysia, chairing the prestigious Jumping Committee. As the Managing Director or Equestrian Promotions Quzier has been running internationally recognized FEI standard horse shows at 3Q Equestrian since 1997. These shows include FEI CSI-W shows such as 3QE Classic, Malaysian Open, Merdeka Masters. Equestrian Promotions also organises the Malaysian Open Polo Tournament, one of the premier polo events in the South East Asian polo calendar. |
